Spaces

Centralized storage volumes that multiple team members can access in real-time on their desktop or through a web browser.

What are Spaces?

Spaces in creative.space are virtual storage volumes that provide centralized storage for projects and assets. They function as dedicated areas for storing, organizing, and accessing digital media assets. Each space is like a distinct workspace or room tailored for specific projects or types of work.

Spaces are a versatile, easy way to store and share your content. Once you create a space, you can:

Spaces let you decide who can see your content, who can modify it, and even how much storage they can use. Spaces liberate your content from the confines of your collection of external hard drives, and centralize it under your control.

Users can benefit from Spaces in several ways:

Features like Snapshots and Libraries are managed at the space level. Think of the space as the front door to a house. Once inside, each folder is like a separate room with its own lock. Snapshots protect all the data in the house, while Libraries provide an inventory of everything that's in the house and where it is. However, you still need the keys to access the content inside each room.

Spaces in creative.space provide a cloud-like experience on top of network-attached storage, allowing team members to access the same data in real-time. Unlike other forms of storage such as Direct-Attached Storage, Network-Attached Storage, or Cloud Storage, creative.space offers the following advantages:

Creating and managing spaces in creative.space is straightforward. System Admins can create Spaces and grant read and write access to users and groups. Once a space is created, it can be accessed on desktops and web browsers, assets can be stored in it, and access can be controlled and regulated.

Spaces use a folder-based storage structure. To standardize and simplify organization, you can create and apply folder structure with custom variables and permissions using templates.
